1.Introduction

LeadScout is a Chrome extension for lead generation on many websites. It highlights tech stacks, rates, contacts, and flags as you browse. This policy explains what data we collect and how we handle it.

2.Data Controller

NextGen Mentoring, operated by Zoltan Iszlai. Contact: contact AT zoltaniszlai.com

3.Data We Collect

LeadScout stores your configuration settings in Chrome's local extension storage (storage.local) on your device. This includes: your name, email, phone number, location, timezone, hourly rate, tech stack preferences, position title, dev start year, GitHub URL, Calendly URL, and extension toggles. These settings are used to personalize outreach templates and filtering behavior.

4.Data We Do Not Collect

LeadScout does NOT collect: browsing history, page content, LinkedIn data, search queries, messages, profile information of people you view, analytics on your browsing activity, usage statistics, crash reports, or any telemetry.

Once a day the extension asks nextgenleadscout.io for the list of releases, each with its date and its number of changes, so it can tell you when an update is out and how far behind your version is. The request carries no cookies and nothing about you, your settings or your browsing; it names only LeadScout and the version you have. Like any request on the web, it reaches the server with your IP address, and the host's access log records it like any visit to this site.

The LeadScout mark on LinkedIn shows a Send feedback button when you hover it, and the job card on other sites carries one in its foot. It opens Telegram with a draft to Zoltan that you read, and can edit, before you send it. The draft carries the page's address and language, which LeadScout switches are on, your rate and years filters, how many authors you've skipped and leads you've saved, the LeadScout version and whether an update is out, your browser, screen size and theme, and the last LeadScout error on that page. It never carries your name, email, phone, Telegram handle or any other Profile field. Nothing leaves your device until you press send in Telegram.

5.How Your Data Is Stored

All settings are stored locally using Chrome's storage.local API and stay on this device. Export and Import in the extension's Settings tab move them between machines. LeadScout keeps none of your settings on its own servers.

6.Data Sharing

The LeadScout extension shares nothing. We don't share, sell, or transfer the data it handles to anyone. No third parties, no analytics services, no advertising networks, no cloud processing services. Period.

This website is a separate matter. It uses Google Analytics, and only if you accept it. Section 7 sets out exactly what that means.

7.Cookies & Tracking

The LeadScout extension uses no cookies and no tracking mechanisms. Nothing in this section applies to it.

This website (nextgenleadscout.io) uses Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate traffic. It loads only after you accept it. If you reject, no analytics cookie is set and no request reaches Google at all. Your choice is the legal basis for this processing, and you can change it whenever you like through the Cookies link in the footer of any page. We ask again after 12 months.

What gets stored on your device:

  • ls_consent — your choice, kept in local storage for 12 months. Strictly necessary, so it isn't subject to consent. It never leaves your browser.
  • _ga — Google Analytics, 2 years. Set only after you accept.
  • _ga_KWWJV4ZKPH — Google Analytics session state, 2 years. Set only after you accept.

Accepting means Google LLC processes the visit as our processor, which can involve a transfer outside the EU. Rejecting, or simply ignoring the bar, leaves the site fully usable. We run no advertising cookies and no marketing tags of any kind.

8.Your Rights

You can export all your settings as a JSON file using the extension's Settings tab. You can delete all settings by removing the extension from Chrome. You can modify any setting at any time through the extension popup.

9.Children's Privacy

LeadScout is not intended for users under 16 years of age.

10.Security

LeadScout is built on Chrome's Manifest platform with Content Security Policy enforcement and Trusted Types policy for safety and security. The extension requests only the minimum required permissions.

11.Changes to This Policy

I may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
